One day, my dad came down to the basement and heard me playing. He was surprised at how good I had gotten, and he encouraged me to keep practicing. He told me that I had a natural talent for music, and that I should pursue it.

I took his advice to heart, and I started practicing even more. I started taking lessons, and I joined a band with some friends. We played at local clubs and bars, and we slowly started to build a following.
